Pacific Retreats, Inc., was incorporated in December of 1979. It began as a real estate brokerage firm known as R. M. PLUMMER, INC. In December of 1984, we began a small vacation rental business that gradually grew to its present size. We have been in the same location since 1980.

Carolyn S. Plummer, president, is a licensed real estate broker (sole practitioner) in the State of Oregon (Pacific Retreats, Inc. is not required to be licensed) and has been involved in all phases of real estate sales and rental services since 1977. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, active 25-year member of the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce, and has served several terms as a Chamber board director and vice-president.  She and Richard are the parents of one grown son, Derek, and grandparents of two.

Richard M. Plummer, vice-president has been a professional manager of apartments, mobile parks, office buildings, and single family dwellings. He served as a vice president and director of a N.Y.S.E.-listed company for ten years, in charge of all management activities. He is a two-term past president of the Multi-family Housing Council of the Homebuilders Assn. of Metropolitan Portland (1974-75 and 1975-76). He, too, is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Oregon under the R. M. Plummer, Inc. name. He is a charter member, past president, Paul Harris Fellow, and ten-year board member of the Lincoln City Rotary Club (since 1979). He is an active 25-year member and past board director of the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce. 

Derek R. Plummer has been associated with the hospitality industry for over twenty years, having served in various capacities at the Inn at Spanish Head and Salishan Lodge on the central Oregon coast. Immediately before he joined our company in January, 1996, Derek was employed by the Laguna Niguel- Ritz Carlton Hotel in Laguna Beach , California, a five-star resort. He has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to our firm. Derek is a Paul Harris Fellow, currently serves as a board director of the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce, and as a musician, he is a team leader at his family's church.  He also coaches his son's basketball team.

Twyla A. Plummer joined Pacific Retreats in December of 1998. She has a varied background, including working in computer graphics and audio at a cable television station during college.  Twyla is a Certified Medical Assistant and continues to work for a local physician one day per week. She also received an honorary graduate diploma in business, and has been employed in several facets of the tourism industry.  Twyla is a Paul Harris Fellow, and is the head coach of both the middle school and varsity dance teams at Taft High School.  Twyla and Derek have two children, Jessica and Adam.
